Taylor 812ce Grand Concert First Edition (#18 of 50) RARE!

A rare opportunity to own a stunning Taylor 812ce Grand Concert First Edition electro acoustic guitar (one of only 50 made) with an unbelievable resonant tone and a unique streaked ebony fretboard.

Featuring solid Indian Rosewood back and sides and a solid Sitka Spruce top, widely accepted as the de facto 'standard' for an acoustic tone that warm with plenty of body and just the right amount of sparkle and snap.

The Grand Concert body is a slightly smaller body which will suit those looking for a more manageable instrument with more control over the low end, which makes it a great guitar for live use.

Although a brilliant guitar for live work, I've mostly used it for recording - it has been gigged only a few times – and if anything sounds even better now than it did when new. Taylor launched the 'new 800 series' in 2014 and this unique guitar is #18 of a limited run of only 50 First Editions made. It comes with a Taylor 800 series limited edition leather strap and a Taylor Deluxe Hardshell Brown case. I’m also bundling a rubber sound hole cover and 10 sets of custom-calibrated Elixir HD Light strings which have been specifically designed for use with this guitar.

What Taylor Say...

Taylor's rosewood/spruce Grand Concert is all about articulation and intimacy. It's a fingerstyle favorite for its balanced and focused response and makes a perfect recording guitar, as it fits well with other instruments. The revoicing of the 800 Series has brought out extra midrange warmth in this body shape, and the new custom-gauge HD Light strings add boldness to the treble notes, with impressive volume and dynamic range for a smaller guitar. A Venetian cutaway offers easy access to the upper register, while Taylor Expression System 2 electronics serve up exceptional amplified tone. Premium appointments include maple binding and back strip, rosewood top edge trim, and a rosewood pickguard.

Expression System 2

The Taylor Expression System 2 is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor's ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor's proprietary behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before. Together with Taylor's custom-designed ''professional audio''-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar.

Unique Bracing Pattern

All 800 series Taylor guitar feature the new 'CV' bracing pattern, which allows the solid Sitka Spruce top to vibrate and resonate much more than standard bracing patterns. The result is an impressive level of tonal richness and projection. This new bracing is only available on guitars in the 800 series or above, reserved for some of the most premium instruments that Taylor produce.

The Perfect Guitar Neck

For ultimate playability and peace of mind, all 800 series guitars feature Taylor's unique NT neck design. The NT neck was designed to give players a straighter, more stable guitar neck, resistant to common problems such as changes in humidity. The neck sits in a custom fit pocket along with laser-cut spacers. There's a perfect neck angle for each Taylor guitar, and these precision spacers create it. Best of all, because there is no glue used in the NT neck design, maintenance and adjustments can be made by trained technicians in a matter of minutes.
