I'm selling this beautifully-made, amazing-looking and great-sounding boutique Valvetrain 535 combo for a mate who has moved overseas and has asked me to make some space in his lock-up here in the UK.
Valvetrain isn't a brand that's all that well known over here, but it deserves to be. The US-based company's 100% handwired amps take the very best from all those great mid-50s handwired Tweed amp circuits, toughen them up, add a bit of a modern twist and turn them into great working tools which are also works of art. This amp has just been checked over, serviced and retubed by the guys at Essex Amp Repairs and sounds incredible.
The 535 is modelled on the mid-powered tweed amps like the Pro and the Bandmaster and pumps a very robust 35 watts into a pair of carefully-matched top-line Eminence speakers - a 10" and a 12". Make no mistake, this amp is loud, but it's also very responsive and touch-sensistive, with loads of that 50s Tweed mojo many guitarists and harp players go nuts for.
It's built into a very resonant finger-jointed pine cabinet, immaculately covered in two-tone black and while Tolex, which looks the business and it actually relatively light to carry. Furthermore, this amp is in pristine condition, having only been gigged a handful of times - I tried it at a couple of gigs - once on guitar and once on harmonica, just to get a feel for it, and I have to tell you, I'm VERY tempted just to hang on to it! That's how great it sounds.
The Valvetrain 535 has recently been superseded by the 635, a 35w 4x10 monster. Just as a guide, the retail price of the 635 is $2,699.00. (£2176 at today's exchange rate). My pal Dave is looking for £800, for this amazing amp, making it an incredible bargain.

I would stress that I'm absolutely NOT prepared to ship this amp! My preference would be for you to come to me, here in Essex, try it out to make sure you're 100% happy with it, give me cash and take it away with you.
Failing that, I travel around a fair bit for gigs and other things, so I'd be happy to talk to you about delivery within Essex, Cambs, Suffolk, or thereabouts - or even arrange to meet you at a mutually convenient location in exchange for a few quid for fuel.
I'm also selling a similarly immaculate and lovely Dr Z Jaz 20/40 2x10 combo, a Gibson Goldton GA15RV and a really funky old 1964 Fender Tremoloux head and cab, so please check out my other ads.
