1969 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop

I'm selling this lovely old guitar and a few other nice pieces for my friend Dave, who now lives in the Far East, but still has a lot of gear in storage back here.
Originally believed by Dave to be a 68, the serial number on this Les Paul - 803803 - points to 1969, as do various other features, though Les Pauls from this era are apparently quite hard to date precisely.
The body may be one piece, or an early "pancake" though it's hard to see, as the lacquer on the back and sides is quite dark. Talking of which, there is an area of lacquer which has hardened and come away in the cutaway, though it appears the guitar has been like this for some time - certainly since before it went into storage.
My friend Dave bought the guitar about seven years ago from an old boy who had had it for a number of years, but not from new.
Condition-wise, it's pretty good for its age, with a few dings and chips, as is to be expected, and a bit of checking on the top around the control knobs, which is fairly typical of Goldtops of this period. As far as Dave is aware, it is all-original, with the exception of the jack socket - the original is in the case.
The weight by my bathroom scales is 4.2 kg (9.4lbs)
I've just restrung it (with D'Addario 10-46s) and it plays really well, stays in tune and those mini-humbuckers sound very good indeed - gutsy, but the clarity you don't get with full-size humbuckers.
It has a brown Gibson-style case, which looks to be about the same age as the guitar, but I'm not sure it's an actual Gibson case. It's very strong and solid, anyway with a complete set of working hinges and catches.
Having also done a bit of research on price, it appears guitars from this period currently fetch between £4,500 and £10,000, depending on condition and specific attributes. Dave is looking for a quick sale on this instrument, so would be prepared to entertain offers around the £5,000 mark.
