1967 Fender Telecaster w/ Fender Bigsby and OHSC

A really nice, clean ash-bodied Tele, fitted with an original Fender-branded Bigsby trem. The serial number is from 1967 and the stamp on the end of the neck says "Sept 67". (The neck is a beautifully tight fit, by the way.)
This is one of a number of nice items I'mm selling for my pal Dave, who now lives overseas and has a fair bit of stuff still in storage over here in the UK.
He has owned this guitar since some time in the 70s and it was previously owned by a friend of his who (as was the trend at the time) stripped the original blonde finish. He also removed the Bigsby and had London repairman Bill Puplett fit ferules in the back of the body to take a normal Tele bridge. He then sold the original Bigsby unit to a mate.
About ten years ago, Dave decided to return the guitar to its original state, albeit retaining the ferrules. (FWIW, the Bigsby unit came from a guy who said he bought it from Tony Hicks of the Hollies.)
The body was the refinished in a light relic blonde nitro, as it would have been originally, by the legendary refinisher Clive Brown and looks really authentic. When he disassembled the guitar for spraying, the bridge pickup came apart and was replaced with a modern Fender pickup. Dave subsequently had the original pickup rewound and it is in the case, ready to be refitted. At the same time it was refretted with vintage-correct frets by Jonathan Law of Feline Guitars.
It has been fitted with a brand new set of D'Adarrio 10-46s and plays and sounds pretty much as you would expect for a Tele of the period. The guitar sounds great with the modern pickup that's in there - really sparkly and loud, without being overly brash. It's fairly heavy, but not excessively so for a 60s Tele - 3.9 kg (8.4 lbs) by my bathroom scales.
The guitar comes with the original hard shell case with orange lining which has been well used but is still solid and serviceable with all the hinges and catches intact.
Dave is looking for about £5,000 for this guitar, but would be open to offers to reflect the fact it is not completely original.
